The federal government has issued new regulations that require most medical employees, with very limited exceptions, to be vaccinated. We value those who care for your loved one and are doing everything possible to get staff vaccinated so they can continue to provide quality care.

Andalusia Manor will now allow indoor visitation for all residents at all times. Please continue to adhere to CDC Core Principles of COVID-19 Infection Prevention listed below…

• Visitors who have a positive viral test for COVID-19, symptoms of COVID-19, or currently meet the criteria for quarantine, should not enter the facility. Facilities should screen all who enter for these visitation exclusions.
• Hand hygiene (use of alcohol-based hand rub is preferred)
• Face covering or mask (covering mouth and nose) and physical distancing at least six feet between people, in accordance with CDC guidance
• Instructional signage throughout the facility and proper visitor education on COVID-19 signs and symptoms, infection control precautions, other applicable facility practices (e.g., use of face covering or mask, specified entries, exits and routes to designated areas, hand hygiene)
• Cleaning and disinfecting high-frequency touched surfaces in the facility often, and designated visitation areas after each visit
• Appropriate staff use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Effective cohorting of residents (e.g., separate areas dedicated to COVID-19 care)
• Resident and staff testing conducted as required.

Thursday, June 25, 2020 Update

Andalusia Manor has completed baseline facility-wide resident testing. Our center continues to follow the recommendations of the CDC on prevention and mitigation steps, including following strict handwashing procedures, social distancing when possible, and utilizing all appropriate PPE. We are staying up to date with the CDC recommendations as they are updated. In addition, our facility is in close contact with the Alabama Department of Public Health and are following their guidance.

We continue to encourage you to participate in window visits and virtual visits via FaceTime and Skype. Our social services and activities staff is here to assist you, so please reach out to them for an appointment time.

Andalusia Manor’s “Active COVID-19 Count” is seventeen (17) residents and nine (9) employees. If your loved one tests positive, we will contact you. Additionally, if our cumulative number of cases increase, it will be posted on our website – https://www.andalusiamanorandrehab.com/.

Andalusia Manor continues to do facility-wide testing for residents and staff. Our center continues to follow the recommendations of the CDC on prevention and mitigation steps, including following strict handwashing procedures, social distancing when possible, and utilizing all appropriate PPE. We are staying up to date with the CDC recommendations as they are updated. In addition, our facility is in close contact with the Alabama Department of Public Health and are following their guidance.

The facility had an Infection Control COVID-19 survey. We are happy to report the facility was deficiency FREE. Our staff has done an excellent job preparing, preventing, and responding to every challenge.

Thursday, June 11, 2020 Update

Earlier this week, Andalusia Manor tested a total of forty-four (44) residents. Results of thirty-two (32) tested were received today; nine (9) of those residents tested positive. This brings Andalusia Manor’s “Active COVID-19 Count” to ten (10) residents and four (4) employees.
